20 good reasons to switch to Google+ (infographic)
I’ve been using Google+ more than Facebook lately for a lot of reasons. For one thing, Google+ doesn’t use an algorithm to decide who sees your posts or who’s you see. For another, it’s much more responsive to business-related posts.
But I suppose the reason I like it so much is that you can vastly expand your contacts in a large variety of interests, in my case, photography, digital media marketing, chess, books, and cinema, among others. You can do that on Facebook, but G+ makes it very easy to create and share interest circles.

Mobile phone, tablet chip markets poised for double digit growth
The mobile handset, smartphone, and tablet chip markets have seen tremendous growth in the last 5 years, driven by innovative new products like Apple’s iPhone and iPad, and Google’s Android phones and tablets.
A new report from Global Information Inc. says the mobile phone and chip markets continue explosive growth as a result and are poised for double-digit growth through 2016.

A Facebook search engine would grab a quarter of the market
Findings from a survey undertaken by digital marketing agency,
Greenlight
, indicate that Google+ might be more successful than most have initially speculated and that Facebook could potentially capture close to a quarter of the search market globally were it to launch a search engine of its own tomorrow.
This market share would make Facebook the second most utilised search engine in every major market except for China, Japan, and Russia, where it would occupy an uncontested third place.

101 economists oppose anti-trust investigation of Google
Today, the 362,000-member National Taxpayers Union (NTU) sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission and other key policymakers, signed by 101 leading economists who agree that the federal government’s latest anti-trust enforcement push – aimed most intensely at Google – does not focus on real consumer problems, while threatening economic damage and reduced freedom for individuals and businesses.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that free speech on the Internet and consumer choice are at stake in this FTC investigation of search engine practices,” said NTU Executive vice president Pete Sepp.

Android has more than half the mobile phone market
Samsung was the top mobile phone handset maker in the three month period ending in March. Google’s Android operating system continued to grow it’s U.S. share of the mobile market, claiming 51 percent to Apple’s 30 percent. So says
comScore’s
MobiLens service.
During the period, 234 million Americans age 13 and older used mobile devices.
