Spectacular Home in Mexico Opening up Towards The Ocean: Casa Almare
Casa Almare was designed by Guadalajara Studio Elas Rizo Arquitectos and is located in Porto Vallarta, Mexico. The attention to detail in this five-bedroom contemporary villa is indisputable, no matter what your stand point is. Even though the residence has a total of four levels, only one is visible from the street, as the rest descend dramatically, yet harmoniously, towards the ocean, on the opposite side. Wooden exterior panels can be used to literally shut and open the residence towards the surrounding environment. The outdoor terrace is continued by a lavish pool, where inhabitants can enjoy relaxing swimming with amazing views. All of the rooms of the residence have large windows overlooking the ocean, which transforms even the most common indoor activities (such as eating, or showering) into nature spectacles. Materials such as stone and tropical wood add warmth and originality to the interiors of this inspiring and tastefully-designed modern home. It is difficult to pinpoint just one detail, but what is your favorite design element of this project?

Big screens don’t always win: consumers shifting the way they watch TV (video)
Last night I was checking out free videos available from Amazon Prime on my Kindle Fire tablet. My widescreen TV was on with the sound muted as I checked out an old “Star Trek” episode and then an NPR documentary about Franklin Roosevelt’s presidency. I could as easily have watched the videos on the TV set. But a new study shows that when it comes to watching TV, the big screen doesn’t always win.
A new study of over 1,400 consumers, from market research firm Chadwick Martin Bailey, uncovers major changes in how people are watching TV and movies, and the choices they make when it comes to the content they watch online.
Americans trust online news sources as much as local papers
Looking back to the 1950s, the way Americans got their news was pretty simple – it was either their local newspaper or one of the three nightly newscasts.
Today, there are a myriad of ways to get news – online news sites, on one’s phone, cable television, blogs, and, still local newspapers and nightly newscasts. But with all these different choices, do people trust that each will get them the news fairly and accurately? Overall, the answer is yes. And online news sources are as trusted as local papers, which are the most trusted sources.
Inspiring Warmth, Despite Its Highly Modern Look: DellPlain Residence in USA
E. Cobb Architects
completed the development of the imposing DellPlain Residence in USA, a project characterized by originality and contemporary design features. Defined by wood, glass and concrete, the exterior has an irregular shape, partially due to the inclined terrain the residence was built on. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation, mirrored by generously-sized windows. A picturesque stone fence flanks one of the facades, giving a rustic touch and enhancing the feel of a holiday home. Once inside, a potential visitor will probably be impressed with the overall feeling of space. Despite their modern design, the interiors are defined by wood and a subtle use of color, which inspires warmth. The open plan living room is the focal point of the project and also the place with the best views. Best for family gatherings, this interior is abundant in natural light and good vibes.
